Bold Table

 

This poor piece was headed for the garbage dump when I spotted it and the possibilities. The stool seat was coming apart, so it did go into the trash. Then I purchased a tabletop at Lowe's and convinced my Dad to attach it to the stool base.

I thought about painting it something sedate but, well, that's just not me. I put a lime sorbet green base on it, then washed a vibrant green on top. Several shades of fuchsia, orange and yellow followed. I think this would be perfect in a sun room or anyplace at the beach!!!

Bright Green Chair

 

This odd chair arrived looking forlorn and out of sorts. It had seen better days. The finish was scraped and there were a few signs of doggie teeth. But the details were amazing! It had such potential!

So I painted it green. Then I came back and put another shade of green over that one, creating depth and a vibrant color.

The details took quite a bit longer. I'd work on it awhile, then switch to something else. But the time was worth it.

I also tried using bright yellow tape around the bottom rungs of the chair. It was okay but I doubt it's something I'll be doing a lot of. I mostly just wanted to see what all the rage is about. Now I know.

This chair would be a wonderful accent piece or desk chair. Personally, I would include it with other unique chairs and make a wonderful statement in a dining room.

Vibrant Green Chest

This vibrant three-drawer chest started life as plain white. I know. Boring. But someone had tried to jazz it up a little with some glass knobs. I brought it home and transformed it into a statement piece.

Twin Tables

These two tables were rescued from a trash pile at the side of the road. Seriously. Someone else saw them as trash. I saw them as merely needing a little love and a whole lot of paint. Just look at how pretty they are now!

Bright Green Table

I love putting together different elements to make something useful and fun. This table top began it's life as one of those pull-out drawers you find in kitchens. The legs came home with me from an auction several years ago. I just never found the right place for them -- until now.

I'd barely finished this vibrant dresser when it was snapped up by a dear young woman who LOVES color. So glad it went to a good home. It's one of my favorites.

Green Table

This is the green version of the yellow table I posted last night. The table base is exactly the door, including the drawer. The cabinet door on top is a little bit larger and a slightly different shape. They're both solid wood.

Green Fish

Colorful fish make me think of Florida. That makes me think of the beach. And that makes me really, really happy! I LOVE the beach!

It all started with two wooden frames. They were begging for a colorful coat of paint and a lively bit of folk art. Fish are so happy, especially when they're bright green, fuschia, orange, turquoise...well, you get the point.

Bedroom Hutch

My parents found this at a shop somewhere over in Georgia. They were quite proud of it. It was faded French Provincial that had seen better days. Well, things don't stay white -- or off-white -- in my world for long. Layered greens created a backdrop for fuschia, orange, yellow, purple and turquoise. It's so fun now! And functional too!
