Vanity

My husband found this beautiful piece in a thrift store at the beach. It had lovely bones. That's a nice way of saying it had multiple layers of peeling paint and just no dignity left. But the wooden rollers still worked great and the structure was sound.

Lots and lots of time sanding really made this beauty start to shine. A fresh coat of Amalfi Coast (Farmhouse Paint) and some gold highlights (Dixie Belle) and she came to life.

Don't be afraid of a piece that's structurally sound but has been doused with ugly. If you're willing to put in the work, you can turn it into something magnificent!

Pink Desk and Chair

This desk was not a welcome sight. The shop was packed and I didn't see how I could fit even one more piece inside it. But I did. And, eventually, I added a chair and painted it all pink. Seriously pink. It's now found a home at The Dandy Lion Boutique in downtown Enterprise.

Turquoise Desk

This desk came from a church. It once presided over Sunday school classes. Of course, back then it was painted a flat white.
I added a really sweet chair but it needed a little sparkle. A few polka dots, some swirls, stripes and highlights worked were perfect.

Lavender Desk

This small desk was white and had somehow lost its back. Now it's a lovely lavender and is perfect for a young student or artist.

Desk and Chair

Vibrant Desk and Chair

I found this desk at a yard sale months and months ago. It was painted gold. Seriously. I think it was once a computer desk because the drawer is suitable for a computer keyboard. It was in good condition so I shoved it in the van and took it home.

Naturally, I added a little color to the piece. Fuschia, yellow, green, orange, turquoise ... those colors are vibrant and happy! The desk needed a chair and I had the perfect one. It was once brown. Not anymore. It's happy, too!
