Small Table

 

Sometimes we think we simply have to do a lot to make something new again. This sweet table shows that you don't.

It came to me worn with a horrible shade of yellow covering it's wood. But it's in great shape and even has the original castors on it's dainty legs. I wanted to keep the character but give it a fresh look.

Most of you know I love the beach and I wanted something that would fit well in any beach house. I added a light coat of turquoise paint (Gulf by Dixie Belle). It toned down the yellow and created a beachy vibe. I changed out the knob for a pretty yellow one and now this piece is ready to find its forever home.

What Are You Doing Today?

I don't know where this day finds you but I hope you make a point to spend at least part of it with God. He's waiting for you, wherever you might be.

It's easy to get busy, isn't it? Our days are so full. We want to spend time at the beach playing in the sand. The fish are calling us to the lake. Days like this were made for baseball. We're just so busy. Where is God in all of this?

Some explain that they make sure to have a devotional before the game. Others assure us that God is in nature and He would want them to have fun enjoying His gifts. That's all good and true. 

What's also true is that God doesn't want to be an afterthought. He doesn't want to be someone you just sandwich in between all those other things you really want to do. He wants to be your first priority, the One you seek above all else.

So wherever today finds you, I hope you remember He is with you. I pray you find joy in His Presence and consider the blessings He showers down on us all. 

Beach Bound in a Storm

Many of my friends headed to the beach for this holiday weekend. The beach is always a good idea. But this is not your typical weekend for having fun in the sun. Alberto has put a damper on activities.

I'm asking all of you to please be safe. It doesn't matter if you're in Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City Beach, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores or anywhere else also the Gulf Coast. Red Flags mean stay out of the water! It seems like someone always thinks that the warning flags don't apply to them. They do. 

Red Flag warnings have nothing to do with whether you're a strong swimmer or not. It means dangerous rip currents and/or other conditions could take your life. Don't take a chance.

I know you're disappointed but there will likely be other weekends at the beach. Weekends where you can bask in the sun and play in the surf. Just not this weekend. Please remember that your life is worth more than momentary fun. Stay safe!!!

Rusty Metal Sign

I found this piece of rusty metal out by the barn. I'm not sure what it originally was but I suspect it might have come from an old hog feeder. I thought it would make a perfect beach sign. I used an old piece of wire to create a hanger.
