God Will Direct Your Steps

I recently heard someone say that God loves to get caught in His promises to us. I suppose it's because we have to be in His Word in order to know what God has promised over our lives.

I'm always reminding God that He promised to direct my steps. He promised to show me the way to go. God has promised to light my path. 

I frequently don't know the way. I take one step in faith, then another, trusting that He has a plan and it is good. It's also scary. For a person like me who always wants to know every turn before I start, taking those steps some days is just hard. I do it anyway.

Faith isn't rooted in fear. It's rooted in trust. I don't know the way but I trust the One who does. I trust His goodness and mercy. I trust His love. And on days when hope seems dim and I'm struggling to understand, that carries me forward yet another step toward home.
